On May 29th, we hosted a back-to-school fundraiser where we sold homemade goods to support children in need. Our team worked hard to set up a flower bouquet-making station, henna tattoos, handmade bracelets, and a cookie stand. Thanks to the amazing community that showed up, we raised over $200!
With the money we raised, we were able to provide 10 children in a small village in my home country with brand new backpacks filled with school supplies. This village is located in an underdeveloped region where many families live without consistent access to electricity, gas, or even clean water. Despite these challenges, the people welcomed me with so much warmth and kindness.
When I arrived, I was greeted with smiles, traditional music, and dancing. They wore their cultural clothing and made the entire moment feel so special. Their love and hospitality reminded me exactly why this work matters.
To the kids, these backpacks weren’t just school supplies. They were a reminder that someone out there cares about them and believes in their future.
Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser. Whether you bought a cookie or helped set up a table, you were part of something bigger. And we’re only just getting started.
